State Legislation Could Triple Offshore Energy Capacity

A pair of bills circulating in the Maryland General Assembly could, if approved, essentially triple the capacity of wind energy off Maryland’s coast. There are two projects currently working towards construction. Together, they total just under 400 megawatts. The new bill, Clean Jobs Act of 2019, would allow for the expansion of offshore wind energy to 1,200 megawatts.
