Governor Sets Hawaii’s Renewable Energy Goal to 100%
Hawaii’s Governor, David Ige, signed a bill that set the state’s renewable energy goal to 100% by 2045. Hawaii is now the first state to adopt a 100% renewable energy portfolio standard. This increases the state’s goal from 40% by 2040. The state currently produces about 21% of its power from renewable energy.
